Bella Italia

This has become a regular stop for me in my frequent visits to Munich. A block down the street from the Hilton City, they provide a cost effective but exquisitely delicious alternative to all the pig served in this town. Try the authentic Italian pizza either from their lengthy lis or built as you wish. Hot and thin crust with just the right amount of ingredients. My favs are the Calamari griglia: simple and perfectly grilled not fried. Served with lemon wedges. I also get them to throw together a custom Rocket Salad, piles of rucola with cherry tomatoes and littered with freshly shaved Parmesan. Simply douse with vinegar and oil.

This place is often crowded but is always quick with efficient, unembellished service. Outside seating when the weather is fair and great people watching non the Rosenhejmer Platz.

August 2917. Yet again. A phenomenal meal. Honest food. Honestly prepared. Fairly priced.

Spent a couple hours walking around the area & saw this place right as we started...then came back & had a fantastic late night supper and some wine.

The service was great and potions were superb. Had the tortellini soup (tasty & very filling) and also the salmon carpaccio which was my top pick tonight. Fresh, fresh, with pink peppercorns and arugula. Then we had an artichoke appetizer which was very tasty with pepperoncini & greens (they say "rocket" in English).
Last we got an antipasto salad - yeah, we ordered too much, but this was so good and the baked mozzarella and prosciutto was to die for.
Try it out - you should not be disappointed.

Delicious food, good value, lovely atmosphere, kind staff. What else could one want? I recommend the lasagna. Yum!

I was a bit surprised with Bella Italia. I think I was expecting the experience to be awful since the prices were so low. However, that wasn't the case.

I had the spaghetti carbonara and the portion was so big that I ate it for lunch for the next TWO days. It wasn't the most flavorful carbonara I've ever had, but you really can't beat the amount of food you get for the amount of money you pay. If you're on a budget, then this might be a place for you.

The service was okay....the server would not stop asking my friend and I what we wanted, even after we told him we just wanted to talk a bit and we needed more time to look at the menu. Apparently this guy thought "more time" meant we needed exactly one minute. Of course, in typical Munich fashion, when it was time for us to pay, he was nowhere to be found.

As for the decor, all I can say it this: birds. WHY birds?!?! There are fake birds, I think parrots to be specific, all over this place. I found the atmosphere to be, in one word, tacky.

Overall, I would come here again. It is really close to my apartment and it is so cheap, but the flavors weren't that amazing and like I said.....those birds are awful. I would probably attempt to get a table somewhere else first. :)

We decided to give Bella Italia a try after hearing a good review from a friend. On a Sunday evening, the place was packed and lively--a good sign already! Without reservation, we waited less than 5 minutes to be seated.

The service was quick as the waiter came within 10 minutes of us being seated. The prices were super reasonable for the dishes that we got. We ordered the potato Gnocchoni with mushrooms, truffles, and ricotta cheese served with a truffle-cream sauce and spinach-cheese ravioli also served with truffle and a fried chicken drumstick for 10 EUR each. We were provided with an amuse-bouche (a slice of bread with Bruschetta) before our entrees, and both dishes were decent.

Definitely a good place to consider around the Rosenheimer Platz area.

I thought they made an AMAZING four cheese pizza!

I found this place after walking to the Deschutes Bank closest to the Ostbanhof area (which was a good 20 minute walk). It is a rather unassuming cafe with a large outdoor patio seating area, found in a neighborhood with a few other places to eat around.

Me and my lady grabbed a table outside, and were quickly greeted with a "Ciao!" which kinda took us by surprise. As it turned out, our waiter and at least one other employee both spoke fluent Italian, which was a nice touch at a place that basically has Italy in its name.

The menu, from what I can remember, looked traditional Italian. A large pizza list with decent prices and various other pasta and meat dishes. The one German part of the menu, and the most important part of ANY menu that should have a German influence, was the beer list! They had a few on tap, others in bottles, and of course the all important litre and half litre glasses. A 12oz. bottle of beer back home hasn't been the same since I had my first litre.

I ordered the four cheese pizza; I don't remember what the four cheeses are but at least the first two should be easy to figure out. She ordered some pizza with roma tomatoes and "rocket" (I wish we didn't call it Arugula in the states, Rocket sounds way cooler). The pizzas came out quick, and were huge, thin crust styled just like we had in Italy the following week. The best part of mine, and what made this such an exceptional pizza, was the random pieces of cheese rind on my pizza. Delicious, salty, melty, baked cheese rind, obviously from cheese #3 or #4.

The service was on point, the beers delicious, the pizza authentic, and the location great, I couldn't ask for more from an Italian place in Germany!

Nice location, good food, friendly staff but nothing special per say. Its average, including prices. So for a bite to eat, no thrills...come here.

honestly, plate nr2 was amazing...never ate such a tasty and original plate. congrats to the chef!

The lasagna tasted like a chef boyardee special from a can. Don't waste your time or money especially if you don't speak Italian; our server discovered we spoke little German or Italian and never spoke to us after our initial order.

bad Service, unfriendly and inflexible staff, average food. Only few vegetables in the vegetarian lasagne, Cold Pizza.
I definitely do not recommend this restaurant!!
