This shop is excellent. I don't live in the area now so haven't been here for a while (it's a mighty trek if you're not nearby!) but it's a great shop.
I even came in the day I moved back to South London. I came in, spent £25 on books and realised I had too much stuff to take with me and this wasn't very clever. but they always have great books. Everything from classics to very modern stuff. You can always pick up Margret Atwood in here too. Handy for pre holiday book buying.
I like it. The staff are friendly too. What more do you need?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype-användare (lnb36…)London, Storbritannien29930 nov. 2008
I have mixed feelings about this shop. Yes it is a charity shop and is cheap and I have to accept it is certainly well stocked as a bookshop. However I can't help but think it incredibly overpriced for a second hand bookshop.I see there being something very wrong in seeing hard back books for £7 in a charity shop, I can probably pick them up off Amazon for less than that from the comfort of my own home. But still, the money is going to charity, probably to pay the wage of some chugger somewhere but we can't complain. On the plus side there is a generous paranormal section here.maybe I will check that bit out once more on my lunch break in order to give it a chance to redeem itself.

Great for picking up cheap, second hand books; with a much better range than the usual charity shop. It's strongest on poetry, plays and novels, particularly classics. English Literature students would do well to look here first.
There's a children's section, large history section, a lot of outsized art books and some first editions. Weakest areas are psychology and philosophy, of which there's barely anything. Don't overlook the metal stands in the middle, it's where they lump the tackiest books but there's some good modern fiction there too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype-användare (whiter…)London, Storbritannien0123 maj 2008
This shop is well worth a visit to browse or buy from a large selection of secondhand books, there's also some new ones there as well. It is well organised making it easy to find what you are looking for.
Prices are very reasonable, ranging from £1 novels up to higher priced collectors items.
I've found this shop invaluable for information on any topic you could think of, and it's open 7 days a week.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
