Some rooms need renovation (strange access panels for plumbing, I saw some foil insulating old ceiling, etc. The rooms are tiny, and the triple rooms are just the same-sized rooms crammed with another bed but it's literally meant to sleep and go explore the city so there's nothing wrong with that to me. Very very good quality rooms and hallways for such an aesthetically old place with an insane location! Their lobby is a bench and a desk and an elevator so don't expect to lounge about all day there but overall pretty cozy! Everyone's as nice as I think they could be, strict check ins at 3 like usual. Some rooms have cool toilettes that'll spray your heinies so they're clearly trying to update all the time as well. The breakfast is awesome and pretty similar to a lot of European breakfasts. Very comfortable furniture and pillows as well.

Pros:
1. The bed and pillows are comfy.
2. Location location location. I booked this hotel because it was about an 8min. walk to the Musee De Louve. 2 blocks from the Grand Opera House and the metro is 1 block away. Everything seemed close. The list goes on and on. I loved the macarons at Paul's bakery and at the Pierre Herme shop. There is about 5 different macarons and chocolate shops around the area.
3. House keeping are very nice and friendly. They makes it a point to keep the rooms clean and tidy everyday.
4. Finally, convinced my brother to travel to Europe. Siblings trip I will never forget.
Cons:
1. The shower was small. I kept hitting the screen door with my elbow.
2. I needed to do luandry. The hotel's brochure said their was a laundry bag inside the desk or near the the room's safe. I did not find a laundry bag in my room. When I asked the reception. The two men let me know if I wanted to do laundry I can go to the laundry mat. The hotel does not do laundry on Sundays. Nothing in the hotel's brochure stated that the hotel does not do laundry on Sundays.
3. I asked for an ironing board and iron at the reception desk. I had to bring both up to my room on the 5th floor. It was fine, but I sort of lost the hotel feel.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Peter M.Groes-faen, Storbritannien016138813 juli 2008Förste recensent
Nicely placed between L'Opera, Place de Vendome and the Louvre Museum, within easy reach of the famous boutiques in the Rue Honore and just a stroll away from the Galleries LaFayette.
Finding a sensibly priced hotel in a good area of Paris is not easy, but I think we have one here. What's particularly good is the size of the bedrooms, in contrast with many 2 and 3 star hotels in Paris. We had singles with good wardrobes and spacious bathrooms - bath and shower. The breakfast buffet is well worth the extra charge and the breakfast hours allow one a long and leisurely recovery period from the rigours of the previous night, if required.
The Daunou lies in a bustling side street packed with bars, cafes and restaurants. Dick made it his mission to try out every bar in the street, to ensure the correct final choice of 'locale'. He also found a German eating establishment, where you sat on benches and all mucked in; don't say it! German food whilst in Paris?!! But it was Dick's trip and in we went. He ordered the 'Fleischfest' and you can see it in the pic. Gesundheit!
