I don't know what Andrew is talking about! He's evidently been away from good honest German fayre for too long, the food was tip top! Lovely weird rolled beef in gravy with a salad, etc etc.


Anyway, food apart, it's on the canal, and would surely be a lovely place to sit outside in summer. For a party of our size, it was somewhat cramped, and they wouldn't let our favourite cocktail waiters do the demo, so I'm taking a star off for that. However, they did let me DJ later on, so I'm putting a star back on for that.

Nice place with a good location right on the canal. Good selection on the menu with really professional and polite staff. In the summer, you can sit nicely outside on their terrace and in the colder months you have the selection of a bar area upstairs and restaurant and lounge downstairs. I prefer to stop in here for a quick bite and mostly to meet with friends and grab a couple drinks. Relaxing atmosphere and a fairly chilled out crowd. Only one gripe and that at times it's a bit of "see and be seen" and I've on occasion wondered whether I needed all these people around me and have gone elsewhere. If that's your thing fine but beware that the "in-crowd" or those who believe to be part of it tend to congregate here.
