I went here with my friend Mario, everything was perfect! I am American so I ordered French food but Mario wanted "this thing called corn fed beef from Nebraska ". I assured him that it was our best! We had a great time! I will always return, each time I return to Paris!

I had such a great experience oh my goodness! I can't wait to get back to pros just to go back and try more food! I didn't take pictures because it was good :/ . The ambiance was absolutely what makes the experience indeed. An old metro station turned into a fabulous restaurant. What an amazing concept. Service was great and the music was absolutely amazing. I've never had a better dessert than the toffee sundae omg!!!

After my last visit, I need to remove 1 star - sorry guys but your service is appalling. We were a party of 9 and the waiter was consistently rude (particularly with the ladies - quite strange) and slow. Too many customers, too much money, too hype... I don't know.
What remains is still a spectacular location, good food and actually moderate prices for the posh neighborhood.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 12 okt. 2012Föregående recensionA pretty cool place. As the name tells, it's a former railway station and the dinner room downstairs is as huge as, well, a railway station. I love the feeling when I go down the stairs and discover the room, even for the 50th time. The decoration changed over the times but it has a lounge flair that I like a lot. 10 years ago as I arrived in Paris, it was my canteen. :-)
The back terrace is pleasant in summer, even though it is a little banal in comparison to the inside.
The former waiting room upstairs is a bar when you can sip a drink and listen to music, sometimes too loud for romantic conversations but otherwise nice.
The voiturier service is very practical if you don't want to spend time looking for a parking spot, but usually you'll find a place to park along the Jardins du Ranelagh nearby.
The food? It never disappointed me - no extravagance but solid French cuisine, always fresh and the portions are huge. The mashed potatoes are a must!
In spite of the chic surroundings, La Gare isn't expensive: about 35 € per person + drinks isn't excessive in Paris, given the quality of the food and of the atmosphere.
So bring your loved one there and you'll have a great time! - 781375712310 mars 2018
An old train station that has been transformed into a cafe and restaurant. The restaurant is enormous, by Paris standards, and the cafe abuts onto a public park and there's really great terraced seating whether "below" for the restaurant or at ground level for the cafe.

Bad service. Canned deserts served as "fresh".
Plastic found in food....a disgrace for French cuisine.

After a long time back in Paris, it has been a great refresh of the French delicatessen. All the dishes had a balanced harmony, letting the palate fully taste all the flavours. Service is helpful and very fast.
If you pass by the XVI, it is definitely a place to pop by.
P.s. try the Quasi du Veau - deliciousHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Trevin C.Seattle, USA25115313622 apr. 2015
Stunning restaurant set in an old Paris train station.
Food wise, the menu rotates regularly so don't look at other reviews and expect to get the exact same dishes unless you're going during the same week the review was written.
I started with a a delicious foie gras terrine, served with apricot compote and tiny slices of bread. Delicious.
Main course was an Iberico Pluma, which is a unique cut of of meat from an Iberico pig. Definitely the highlight since you can't get this cut of meat on the U.S.
Service was attentive and pleasant. I would definitely come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris B.Nijmegen, Nederländerna2027032027 apr. 2017
I haven't eaten at La Gare so far, I have only visited the Bar on the ground floor - but that was a great visit. Loved the atmosphere, excellent service. Nice choice of excellently made Cocktails.
Negatives? Prices for Drinks are a bit elevated, even counting the location and the quality.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pat C.Washington D.C., USA0121 aug. 2015
We stopped in for lunch without a reservation, about 2p. It was August and the place was mostly empty. We were invited to sit on the back porch upstairs which is lovely.
The food was mostly good. My kids had Croque Monsieurs, my wife a Foie Gras de Canard, and I had a Salmon tartare.
The waiter was insouciant, once asking me curtly, if I understood him, in French. What I discovered is that he was testing my smarts on whether, as an American tourist, he could take advantage of me.
Upon completing our meal, and waiting about thirty additional minutes, the waiter told me that in order to pay my bill, I would need to go to the bar cash register. Mind you, still very few people in the restaurant.
At the bar, I was not given an itemized bill (first time in six days, and ten meals, I was not given an itemized bill). Instead, I was told by his manager to simply pay $111 euros.
I just happened to glance at the screen of the cash register, which was not facing me, and noticed the manager and the wait staff had placed not one, but two dishes of Salad with Chicken, which I did not order -- running up my actual bill by another $30 euros !!!!
Its a shame that the waiter and the manager would both attempt this stunt.
I would recommend that Americans, and other tourists, avoid this restaurant, as it seemed standard practice by their behavior.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1
