Mercure Hotel Panorama Freiburg

Very nice hotel in this small German city. The hotel is outside the city center, about 20 min walk and up a big hill.

There are running/bike trails right by the hotel and they let you rent bikes for the day, which is a nice deal.

The rooms themselves are spacious, with a balcony. There is a restaurant on-site that has pretty good breakfast and lunch options (didn't try the dinner).

Overall, this is a good place for a work trip, the only downside is that it's not walking distance in the city, but the views are amaizing from almost every room!

The hotel is on the top of a hill so you get nice view of Freiburg but other than that, nothing much to talk about this hotel.

Many people stay here are with workshops or meetings. You need a car/shuttle to get to here as it's far from the town center.

Room is spacious with balcony but no coffee/tea maker or lotion.. So for the price, I'm not sure if this hotel is a good value.

Breakfast was Ok but again, nothing special. Breads were not warm...Only boiled or scrambled eggs.

This was just an absolutely lovely hotel to stay in the Freiburg area. It's up a hill in a residential area so access to the Old City is a little difficult but the view up above the city is more than worth it. It's clearly been renovated recently and the grounds and rooms are quite nice. Every interaction with staff members was top-notch. Bed was a little hard for our taste, and the parking situation was a little difficult, but those are really the only negatives I can think of. The patios were quite comfortable. Free Wi-Fi. And the breakfast was outstanding. Would definitely return.

My partner and I really enjoyed ourselves here. The sauna and pool area were really nice. It is a great hotel for a couple looking for a relaxing getaway.

The only dowside was that it gets pricy getting to and from the city center by cab if you do that a couple times in a day. The hotel is about a 13 euro cab ride out of the city. But the views are great from the hotel.

I highly suggest you rent the bikes from the hotel and tour the city that way. We rode all the way to wine country in less than 30 minutes on the hotel rental bikes. Very beautiful.

An excellent hotel that I plan on staying at again. While not located in town, therefore no walkability to local eateries or attractions, the view is more than worth it. Every room in this hotel has a panoramic view over Freiburg and the surrounding forest. They have walking trails nearby as well.
Rooms were a bit small, but spotlessly clean and large enough. Each room has chairs on the large balcony with privacy walls between rooms. The views were spectacular and well worth it. I, for one, enjoyed the drive up every time as well.
The staff is superb here, and all speak excellent English and are happy to assist with anything, even ordering a pizza for delivery. While I speak some German, this was a welcome surprise.

BREAKFAST. Get the breakfast with the room. It was 17 Euros a day for us, but more than worth it. That had to be the best breakfast I have ever had. Absolutely delightful, and you could tell the chef and staff took pride in it.

Free wifi was fast enough for all my needs, including streaming video via Netflix on my iPad. The bed was the only complaint - rock hard. I mean it, rock hard. But hey, I can overlook that terrible detail because everything else was perfect.

Best hotel we've stayed at in a while. The beds we sooooo comfortable. The customer service was stellar. Anna in the hotel restaurant helped make my husband and my 13th wedding anniversary dinner an unforgettable experience. She was so sweet, and attentive. The food was great. The views were amazing. The balcony off our room was an excellent feature which we took advantage of. I called ahead to tell the hotel that we would be celebrating an anniversary and they decorated our room with rose pedals and towel swans. I would most certainly stay there again. The only draw back was that the sun hit our room all day and made it very hot. The AC in our room didn't work so our room was very warm. Aside from that, it was perfect!
