Nothing like the quality of the sister restaurant (noodle bar) across the street!

In particular, the tuna tartare inspired dish (MAGURO TARUTARU) was disappointing to say the least. The dish is comprised of a large amount of chopped raw white onion, layered with chopped tuna, and then wrapped in avocado. The onion completely overpowers any of the flavor that the tuna might have, which is not impressive.

The rest of the dishes were okay, although the tamago was above average. The service is not particularly good, and my main course was delivered before any of the appetizers and long before my dining partner's main course. Overall, very disappointing, especially when expecting quality similar to the neighboring ramen.

Naniwa is The Spot in Düsseldorf! It's a first place I go to when arrive to Düsseldorf. Last time arrived too late to go across the street to Naniwa ramen and ended up here with son. We both had udon and few sushi. Sushi are good and fresh but too simple... Udon is the best udon I ever ate. So good that I crave it in Miami )) can't wait till next month when go there.

I had originally wanted to go to Naniwa Noodles & Soups but it was closed for renovation. Naniwa Sushi was just across the street though so I headed over.

The place is small but with good ambiance. There are bar seating inside towards the front with tables in the back and upstairs. I ordered Toro and a bunch of maki rolls. The toro was pretty decent at 7.50 Euros for two pieces. The maki were a pretty good deal though as I had the avocado maki, the tuna/avocado maki, and the crab/mayo maki. Makis are anywhere from 3 Euros to just under 5 Euros. Overall a pleasant experience.

Sushi was fine and the soup was disappointing but this place had great jasmine tea.

The seating is very uncomfortable. There are no back rests and no where to leave coats. The menu has images for all the food items which makes is easy to know what exact you're ordering. The staff can speak German, English and Japanese.

There was nothing wrong but also nothing outstanding about the food. Courses where not delivered all at once but simply as soon as they where done which is fine for some patrons but awkward in a formal dinner situation.

Content but not satisfied to return.

Better than Fujiyama sushi .

The sashimi box with perfectly cooked rice and micro shiso leaves was absolutely amazing! Also, get the real jasmine flower tea, not the bagged one, you won't be sorry...

Not as popular as its sister across the street, but I always like eating the chirashi bowl from here! The lunch specials are also enticing but if you come too late, they will be sold out! Friendly and polite waitstaff. Call in advance for dinner reservations.

Quality sushi for a resonable price. The rice was perfect! Location and service were great. Will come back for sure.
