Like the name says, Pop-in, grab a drink, listen to some cool bands and/or chill upstairs in the lounge. Its a cool spot, not large, but doesn't have to be when it has a bit everything in venue you want. Drinks can come quick and at a descent price from nice staff.

I stopped here to catch up with a friend, and it was very good evening. The drinks are not too expensive and service is quick.
The live music on the other side on a Sunday evening wasn't my scene, but it was entertaining!
The furniture in the upstairs "living room style" area has seen better days and the bathroom is terrifying (no seat on the toilet, one of those rotating cloth things to dry your hands on...) but it's Paris! Come here to enjoy the people you're with and maybe chat to someone new.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Erica L.Miami, USA21057408 okt. 2017
Young eclectic crowd, great music. This bar has multi levels and several different 'areas' each with their own vibe and music. Word to the wise though, the bartender is drinking as much as the patrons, has a tendency to play with his hair then handle the ice with unwashed hands! GROSS

It's a very great place to stay at in the Rue Amelot for the beginning if the night. There are couple of draft beers (including Guinness) and different areas to sit in the bar.
In one of them, there's even a piano!
The music atmosphere is cozy, light house.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 27 feb. 2012
The Pop In was a surprise to us --remember the Japanese hipster venue featured in "Lost In Translation"? The Pop Up may be it's Paris equivalent.
Walk in and you are in a small crowded bar. Order a beer, at a good price (for Paris.) Notice the dark stairs to the right leading up --is there something upstairs? Hmmm. Walk upstairs to find a piano, Paris twenty somethings cavorting around and singing, and wander past to the back bar to find a similar scene. Notice more another narrow staircase in the back bar, leading down, down, down. But to where?
Follow those stairs into a larger basement with DJs spinning 70 and 80s American pop, an eclectic mix. Lots of dancing on the floor and more and more people spilling into the basement to cool down, and then heat up on the dance floor.
Layers of a scene to check out here at the Pop In --we stayed for a couple of hours and had a fantastic time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alexandre A.Paris, Frankrike1531127 dec. 2015
Don't pop in, BURST IN for a good pint and listen to some of the finest pop rock and indie bands you never knew.
Ps you can order pizzas by phobe and eat there ;)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Laura D.Philadelphia, USA30228 juni 2011
Le Pop In is a bit of a circus of sorts. The second floor is a lounge, the first floor is a bar, and the basement is a dark and intense dance cave.
This is a Parisian hipster bar, and the dancing reflects this in the basement. I saw some of the worst dancing I have ever witnessed in my life, but the vibe was very energetic and fun.
I recommend drinking a few beers upstairs and then gradually making your way down. Be prepared to dance, sweat ( a lot) and generally let loose. You won't leave disappointed.
(I subtracted the one star because the dance floor was closed once when I went there! Quel dommage!)Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Maki P.Seattle, USA962312517 feb. 2012
I celebrated my 21st birthday at Le Pop In wayyy back in the day, and couldn't have been happier with my choice. It was my first time discovering the hipster side of Paris, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the widely varied selection of oldies, rock, and indie tunes playing in I guess what you would call the "dance cave" in the basement of the bar. It almost felt like a taste of home (NY), except that this being France, none of the men assume it's ok to sneak up next to you and start aggressively grinding you from behind. My idea of a successful evening of dancing.
The vibe upstairs is much more relaxed, but still fun-- friendly staff and a very mixed crowd when I recently re-visited.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan H.San Antonio, USA179115439 sep. 2015
Stumbled upon this bar while waiting for a seat in a nearby restaurant. This bar reminds me of austin in a good way. Chill French hipsters, nice bartender, and great happy hour prices - I'm ready to come back later for the bands that are playing later. Highly recommended.

Fun, cheap and relaxed with good space for a good size group of friends. This is a hesitant 4 stars because the dance floor wasn't open on a Saturday night(since it was my main motivation for going). I had one of their rhum cocktails(one of the few on the menu). The bar tender looked kind of pissed when I ordered it, since it was clearly more complicated than the beers most people order, but it was well worth it!
