Strack and Van Til

We were not able to travel to celebrate our birthday, so we went to Indiana for safe shopping for our favorite hard-to-get beer, Yuengling. It's based on the East Coast so it's not available in Illinois. (though Indiana is the Midwest ) We'd been there before but I don't remember where we'd first heard about it.

There was a station set aside for sanitizing carts, and while we kept our distance there was no one keeping track of the number of people in the store. It was early Friday evening so it wasn't very full!

In addition to beer, we picked up other groceries with choices/varieties that are very hard to find here (pina colada and cookies and cream Yoplait yogurt? Cool!)

Another thing that draws IL residents to IN is TAX BREAK. The taxes on the final bill were SO LOW! I love my city/state but we have to do better on these fees!

I use to shop for groceries here. It is my one item stop shop if need be. Its a nice location but I think they need to have a variety of a better selection of things to buy. They don't sell organic items. Which I like to buy some of. Where is the flower shop? Baked good section is OK.

Staff is OK. Great location.

Every time I go to this store the line is long. I feel bad for the cashiers. The management needs to do something.

Nice alternative to Jewell and Dominicks, good clean stores.
