Meeting Jenny & shopping at Urbanization was just what I needed on a midweek day. Go treat yourself to a wardrobe refresh!
The storefront is of course absolutely charming in downtown San Carlos & free parking is abundant.
Quality of the brands & in a perfect price range are on point.
Jenny offers wonderful input on style & has a great ability to suggest pieces that will look flattering, trendy-yet-classic and perfect for work or running errands.
Forget shopping at a big store. I am now a forever customer & this is my go-to!

While most of the items in the store are not exactly my style, I had no problem finding a great army green bomber jacket for myself and something for just about everyone I know back home in Chicago.

They've got women's clothing and accessories in mostly mid range prices. Nothing too crazy, which is nice to see.

The girl working in the shop that day was so sweet and chill and I ended up inadvertently buying the outfit she'd been wearing . As I was walking around she offered to start a fitting room for me and while I didn't end up getting any of the items I'd picked out for myself, there was a really striking jacket inside the dressing room marked as a store favorite that was available to try on... so I did, and immediately knew I couldn't leave without it.

When in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to pop in and see what new things they've got in stock.

I've only been into this store a few times, and never procured anything until my most recent visit. After strolling on Laurel, I turned the corner to San Carlos Avenue, and found myself in front of Urbanization. There was a huge sign with 50% off Sale. Of course, I walked in!

I was warmly greeted by two friendly staffers. Music was funky and danceable, and a wee bit loud for my taste. Guys clothing was on one side, and girls to the other side. Great selection of cool, hipster clothes, shoes (Steve Maddens, Rocket Dog, etc.,), and accessories.
Perusing the 50% off sale rack of the 'Free People' brand, I sifted through sweaters, pants, tshirts, and then JACKPOT!!! A super cute short black dress was calling my name. A girl can always use a little black dress, right? Anywho, this particular one has a front and back V with beige lace trimming. The fabric is so soft and velvety. This was the only dress on the rack, and was praying that it would fit. Went to the dressing room, slipped off my gym clothes (work out post shopping trip) and into the dress. Holy mother - my prayers were answered! To my excitement, it fit like a glove! Girls, you know what I'm talking about -that feeling when you try something on, is a perfect fit, and makes you feel so sexy and sassy!
I felt even better about the dress knowing that it was half off and marked down to $54!! Awwyah, baby!

I was interested in a couple of pairs of shoes, and both were on sale. I exhibited self restraint by only procuring one pair of black Rocket Dog casual spring flats for the marked down price of $34! Score!!!

Urbanization is a very cool store, with great clothes (some pricier than others). However, there were great sales (50% of selected Free People and all Steve Madden shoes, 30-40% off other items, etc,). There's also a frequent shopper card, too (which most stores don't have).
Service is cheery, friendly, and helpful.
I will most definitely return to Urbanization!!!

I'm so excited to wear my new black dress, and perhaps I'll wear it for the upcoming SV Elite event on Wednesday!

This store is so cute! There's always something going on.
Sunny(owner/manager?) is super sweet and so are the other girls working there they remind me of the Kardashian sister.

Everyone is very friendly and super helpful. They give genuine feedback and offer great fashion advice! I never feel pressured to buy.

I have bought some really cute dresses and shirts that I have yet to wear. In addition they have a great variety of accessories and jewelry that I love.

This is a great little store. It reminds me of the type of stores I love to visit in SF. They care Free People which is one of my favorite lines but they also have lots of other labels. I like the mix of clothing, shoes and jewelery. Today we were just out and about window shopping but I can't wait to go back when I get paid!

So, I may be biased because one of my best friends is the owner - but I LOVE her shop! The clothing is really eclectic and fun. She caries a lot of Free People, which is great - and I would rather support her than Macy's or Nordy's... plus, when she has sales, she has SALES!!! Beyond the awesome clothes is the killer accessories they sale. Everything from super cute, new style in jewelry to uber cute hats. It's not that the prices are high - they are in line with what you would pay anywhere for the same brands - she just carries good, quality brands.
If you're looking for something fun, new and not what every other girl is wearing - mosdef stop by and scope it out!

If you want someone who will pay attention to you, this is your place to go. The moment you walk in, one of the sales girls will be talking you up. The people I notice enjoying the shop the most are those who are cool with the idea of a sales girl being like a friend; listening to whatever is on your mind and giving you feedback on how the clothing looks on you.

If you're like me and a bit cynical about staff (they are selling something, after all) then try and visit and ask for Sunny. Whether you buy something, or are just browsing, Sunny will make you comfortable by not offering too much interest but still being very friendly and nice.

I've bought a few shirts and some pants here; the shoe selection is small and shrinking. They stock Free People, Sketchbook Memories, Goorin Brothers hats, Gama Go shirts (guys) and Dickies. It's an interesting blend of hipster and hippy.

I've had some issues with prices and sales, but they've always been pretty chill about looking over receipts and correcting them. I haven't had to return anything, just make sure that sale prices were correctly rung up! Only once did I have an older woman tell me an item wasn't on sale, despite signs saying it was. I asked Sunny about it a few days later, and she refunded me the difference in price.

For me, the experience is in the people; you can get these brands at their stores in SF (or off the internet) but if you would like a little chat and to browse the sales rack, this is a nice place to stop by.

PRO:
1. The clothes are definitely my style. A little boho yet modern.. They've got a great selection that's frequently updated!
2. The service is great there! They are always greeting, asking if you need help (and leaving you alone if you say you're ok). But do take their advice, those ladies have great taste in clothes and appear to be honest when something doesn't work!

CON:
1. The clothes are quite pricy but if you choose something you'll wear all the time.. (Like my $80 brown leather jacket) then, it's worth it because the quality is great!

Absolutely my favorite store! I shop here regularly, and every time I do I am never disappointed. The selection is really precious, and I love how I can find always find something really cute and unique. I definitely get more compliments on the clothes I buy here more than anything else in my closet!

The girls who work here are also so sweet and helpful, and so stylish. I always trust their feedback when trying things on.

This is my favorite store ,I absolutely love it . The people who own it are so darling and put things together for you that look great together. They tell you the truth about how it looks on you . And treat you so special . I've shopped there for years and have never ever been disappointed. They also have new shipments all the time so it never gets old.
