Straight forward no nonsense food in pleasant surroundings. Right next to the Premier Inn so the package deal included the meal and a drink each. It's basic but hearty. Dave, our waiter, was perfectly attentive and very smiley. It's not trying to be gourmet and that's fine. It has a bright outside area with stuff for kids to do. I recommend the knickerbocker glory. Mmmm.....

Not been here for a long time since it has been refreshed and I was not disappointed. The food came quick and was delicious. One of our party had the carvery, not the best we have had but lovely none the less.
Plenty of room for prams, refillable drinks, tasty unique desserts, polite staff willing to help, table service, overall excellent meal out.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype-användare (LCRW19…)Dublin, Irland41014513 nov. 2008
Typical Brewers Fayre, good value food, good service, good quality and quantity.
Popular pub so sometimes quite busy. But never had any bad experiences at this pub in terms of food or service. Not forgetting the children menu.
Will no doubt be going again and would recommend to a friend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype-användare (jvaudr…)Manchester, Storbritannien667914 nov. 2008
I used to go here when I was at college and never had a bad meal, now 10 years later I find the food is still just as good the service is great and the décor has been updated.
The only downside is that they no longer do the Alexandra sauce which I used to love.
There is something to be said for a Brewer's Fayre or TableTable as they are now known, simple, straight forward food with great service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype-användare (ma2_…)Warrington, Storbritannien35619 nov. 2008
The Winwick Key is a large pub near the M62 motorway in Warrington. It serves a range of food, all the meals you would expect from a Brewers Fayre so a range of hot dishes and sandwiches. The food is reasonably priced and normally tastes nice although I have on occasion had a bland meal from them.
The restaurant and bar are decently priced and there is a good selection of drinks to choose from.
The pub also caters for children well with a play area and childrens toilets.
Be prepared to wait for a table if you turn up on a weekend tea time or sunday day, I have had to wait up to 40 minutes before now.
All in all this is a good family pub which on the whole serves well priced decent food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype-användare (Bapend…)Sheffield, Storbritannien311319 dec. 2008
start with the bad news first.
FOOD here CAN be EXPENSIVE. bangers and mash for £6.99
home made? id say roughly 3 to 4 pounds. save yourself a few extra pounds of christmas shopping.
although i dont see why you would go out and eat bangers and mash, but Gammon steak, with 2 eggs, chips and some peas was exact same price. 6.99. which is average price i suppose.
i must admit. it was nice. but returning?. i would have to consider it.
on the side of that you have to buy ur drinks Separate. As a UNIVERSITY students a meal for 9pounds including drinks is pretty expensive. so would recommend avoiding this place for a celebration meal.
Its not like a NORMAL restaurants where you get waiters walking around asking if your ready to order. u have to go to the bar round the corner, and wave someone down, and the waiters are hardly doing that.
When bringing the knives and forks, they put it in this metal tin. and inside.. isnt a good sight.
one friend commented lucky im not a health and safety inspector.... yup. that wasnt that clean.
GOOD NEWS
IT is a really nice place. inside looks fabulous. feels welcoming, well lit thats about itHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan C.Alsager, Storbritannien018 okt. 2017
Not been here for many years but enjoyed my visit today. Main meal (steak) was spot on, but one star lost because the dessert (DirtyMud Pie I think it was called), came and was rock solid, impossible to get a spoon through. A huge let down for someone who hates a meal without a dessert. Think I should have been pre warned so I could have chosen something else (eatingbout of cardboard box later at home not the same at all!), as we didn't have hours to hang around. Second star lost for the state of the ladies toilets, really disgusting but fair play as soon as we reported it to the Manager he was straight to getting it sorted.

Large pub close to the M62 motorway and a couple of minutes from the M6 exit, the pub was recently redecorated and now has a modern and relaxed feel. The food is the standard brewers fare offering and isn't to everybody's taste. The staff are friendly and the service is surprisingly good!

Large menu. bland microwaved food. Less than helpful staff.
